Pet's Name: Rusty
Breed: Appaloosa
Age: 3 years old
Pet's Coloring: sorrel/white

Biography: Rusty was adopted from the Circle P Sanctuary in the summer of 2009.
Since then, Rusty is really enjoying trail riding. He is not spooky about much of
anything. He acts like he is on a big adventure and all his body language seems to
say "I am hot stuff!!" He has left, right, stop and backup all figured out. His hardest
thing to grasp has been to go forward without a person or other horse to follow. This
ride it was starting to click and he did a little leading on his own. Now all he needs
is hours on the trail to pick up experience and confidence. That's the fun part of
"training" (hours on the trail!)

Shannon was abandoned by her owner at the groomer. Her owner refused to
come pick her up and pay the bill. My cousin happened to be picking up one
of her dogs that day and offered to take "Sheena" home with her. She had
several dogs already so she called us to see if we would want to give her a
home. We jumped at the chance and we took the lively one year old wire fox
terrier into our home. She has been quite a character and a wonderful dog.
Shannon is now 16 years old and still going strong! She is quietly snoring at
my feet as a write this.
Pet's Name: Waltzing Matilda (Mattie)
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog
Age: 11 years old
Pet's Coloring: brown and white

Biography: Mattie is very sweet and gentle. She loves cats
and children.

Mattie has been certified by the American Kennel Club in
obedience and agility.

She has received a canine Good Citizen certificate.

Liger Geiger

A full brother to Tigon Miep, also featured in these pages,
Liger Geiger is named for the animal he resembles. Larger
than a Tigon, a Liger is a lion father and a tiger mother. Also
named for the Geiger Counter he mimics, "My Big Guy" as
Liger Geiger is affectionately called, has the loudest purr
imaginable! Both Geiger and Miep were destined to be barn
cats, replacements for Thursday the best barn cat ever, who
passed on her 20th birthday. But fate intervened in the form of
an unexpected New England cold snap and the two little fluff
balls were brought into the house for the night. I made the
mistake (what was I thinking!) of letting them share my bed
along with my precious Siamese, Cairo Cat. The rest, as
they say, is history and the end of their barn cat careers. The
product of a Tom Cat father and a feral mother, Geiger can
definitely not produce a Mayflower pedigree. "How did a
street cat get into my heart?" I often ask. Now going on
three, Liger Geiger has grown into a beautiful animal and will
be a protected house cat the rest of his life.

Tigon Miep

A full sister to Liger Geiger, also featured in these pages,
Tigon Miep is named for the animal she resembles. Smaller
than a Liger, a Tigon is a tiger father and a lion mother. Also
named for Miep Gies, the Dutch citizen who hid Anne Frank
and her family from the Nazis during World War II, Miss Miep
as Tigon Miep is affectionately called, is not the brightest bulb
on the tree. "But that's ok," I tell her. "Someday a handsome
Tom Cat will come along and fall in love with your beauty. He'll
buy you a kitty Cadillac, a Kitty condo and a kitty cat house.
So stay just as beautiful as you are, Miss Miep, and you will have a wonderfully kitty life." And she'll purr and purr…
Both Miep and Geiger were destined to become barn cats, replacements for Thursday the best barn cat ever, who
passed on her 20th birthday. But fate intervened in the form of an unexpected New England cold snap and the two
little fluff balls were brought into the house for the night, where I made the mistake (what was I thinking!) of letting them

Pet's Name: Kopper & Abby
Breed: Golden Retriever
Ages: 4 & 2
Coloring: Blonde and Red
Biography: Puppy See - Puppy Do
I have 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers. My blonde Retriever's akc
name is Kopper Bear. I call him Kopper. He was born 11/21/06.

My redhead's akc name is Lady Abby Gail, and she goes by
Abby. She was born 8/28/08.
I knew when Kopper turned a year old, he needed a playmate, someone to run around with, and that is how Abby came to
us. Whatever Kopper is doing, Abby has to do, and visa versa. Where ever one is, you will find the other. When I think
about their personalities, I think of playful, energetic, outgoing and loving life. The three of us have had many funny
moments that we have shared together. Kopper's favorite fun time is chasing after a ball. Abby chases after the ball also,
but only because she wants Kopper to get the ball, just so she can grab hold of his tail and tackle him to the ground.

Abby's favorite fun time is in the evening after dinner. She talks to you by howling, so she gets in front of me and howls,
jumps up on the couch and gets right next to me. The one thing they both have that make you melt, are their eyes. They
can look at you, and can light up a room. If I have had a rough day, they both have a way of making you smile. I couldn't
ask for any more loving companions than my 2 Golden's, and know that I have been blessed with them both.
