Meet Our Friend Wally |
Horse Info: Wally was saved from his worst nightmare ever - the auction block. He was one of over 20 horses shoved into a small holding pen at Sugarcreek Auction. He was only known by the number pasted to his hind quarters. Then the wonderful people of the Circle P Sanctuary came and saved him. He arrived here on Friday May 9th, 2008. Since then he has been able to relax and recover from his difficult bout of auction anxiety. He is completely up to date with all of his medical care (including dental), and even experienced the relief of a chiropractic adjustment. We believe he is in his 20's and still in good health with nice conformation. Through several evaluations it has been determined Wally has been used predominantly for driving. He even displays teaming behavior with our other draft, Captain. As in the picture the two stand and walk together in unison through the field at times. It is pretty cute. Wally is a gentle fellow with a big heart and seems to be fascinated with children. We have ridden Wally bareback, but have not ridden him with a saddle. We are currently working with Wally to see what his response would be to having a rider in the saddle. That being said, we cannot recommend Wally be used for horseback riding. Wally continues to be able to do light driving, and be a special friend to another horse. |
