Lucky
Horse Info: Lucky was a Nurse Mare Orphan Foal who lost his mother at
less than three weeks of age. In May of 2008, Lucky went to school for an
educational visit. He traveled very well and was very playful for the
children. Lucky was also the guest of honor at one of our fund raising
events in August, "Howlin' for Horses". He greeted the public (and their
dogs) with enthusiasm and ease. Lucky loves all of his herd mates here at
the Sanctuary. He loves personal attention and will come when he is
called. He is truly like a big dog. Lucky was gelded in July 2008, and was
very good about having his surgery site tended to by day three. He will
stand for the farrier and is no problem to catch, halter or lead. We are not
exactly sure what breeds are part of his heritage, but feel he most
resembles a Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse. Lucky has been sprouting up like
a weed and has a very flashy look to him. The local vet believes Lucky will
grow to be possibly 16hh. We feel with his personality and good looks he
will be a blue ribbon contender for sure. He will be 2 yrs old this winter and
ready for more training, but we feel with his maturity level he may need an
additional year before started under saddle -which means he could be your
2011 show stopper.
