Meet Our
Friend Jack
Jack's History: Jack was part of a neglect case and was moved around in
foster care for several years until the courts awarded the local humane
society custody of the horse. Jack is a short and sturdy pony measuring in at
just around fourteen hands.
Jack Today: Jack is a favorite among volunteers at the Sanctuary. He is in
good health and works well with all farriers, dental, and veterinarian visits.
Jack really seems to respond to kids, but will still need some more training
because he can get a little pushy sometimes. He has the potential to be a
great all around horse and has been ridden both western and English. Jack is
currently being ridden on a regular basis and doing great. Not only has he
attended horse shows and foxhunts - he has won ribbons in both! He is great
on the trails and inside, but can still get a little crow-hoppy at the canter, so
an intermediate rider is best.
Jack's Future: Jack is ready to go to his forever home! Jack needs an
intermediate rider, but with continued training he shows great promise to be
a great children's pony - the perfect family horse! A home that wants to ride
Jack at least 2-3 times a week would be best. He thrives on regular riding and
going to fun events!
