Frisky
Horse Info:
Frisky History: Frisky is a nurse mare orphan foal who was taken from her mom at six
weeks of age. She and Lucky came to the Sanctuary at the same time from Last Chance
Corral.
Frisky Current: Frisky is a very people orientated mare - she loves to be around people as
much as she loves to be around her herd. Being a bottle fed baby, at times she acts more
like a big dog than a horse. Frisky is very easy to catch and will come running when called
from the field. She works well with handler and stands well for the vet and the farrier.
Frisky loves to be groomed, which is a good thing because she has an absolutely gorgeous,
thick mane and tail. Frisky has started her training and is doing very well. She was started
by pulling a cart with a driver in it at a walk and trot. Currently, we have been working with
her at the walk and trot under saddle both in the arena and out in the fields. She is a
horse that likes to learn, but she can have a bit of an attitude sometimes and needs an
experienced hand. When asked to move faster, Frisky is still sorting out her feet and will
sometimes gait or trot.Although still unsure at times, Frisky is turning out to be one great
mare!
Frisky Future: Frisky, being a green horse, needs an experienced owner. She needs quite a
bit more training, and would not do well with a green rider/owner. Being as young as she
is, Frisky is looking for someone who wants to make a lifelong commitment to a horse.
Frisky has great potential, and she would do well in a home that is looking for their next
trail or show horse. Like all horses, Frisky needs to be placed in a home with at least one
other horse.
